On a narrow country road, where is it most difficult to see horses and riders ahead of you?

On narrow country roads, visibility is often limited by natural features such as bends and curves. When approaching a left-hand bend, your line of sight is restricted, making it difficult to see any horses or riders ahead of you. This is primarily because as you round the left-hand bend, the geometry of the road obscures your view of what lies beyond. Riders and horses may not be visible until you are much closer, potentially creating a hazardous situation for both the driver and the riders.

In contrast, the other scenarios—such as open stretches of road or at junctions—typically allow for better visibility. Open stretches provide clear sightlines, while junctions, despite having potential obstructions, often present opportunities to see riders from a distance due to the nature of how roads intersect.
